Manaus

A great option for the tourists to visit Amazônia is beginning in Manaus, capital of the Amazonas State. It is certainly a great start to an unforgettable trip in the largest ecological reserve of the planet, located in Brazil’s North region.

Surrounded by rivers and forest, the city offers a wide chain of hotels, restaurants with the typical cookery of the region and also “Zona Franca” with products of high technology.

There are several tours nearby Manaus. One of them is the Ponta Negra Cultural, Sport and Leisure Park with a beautiful river beach and which in the past is was inhabited by the Indians Manáos, hence the name of the city.

It is a possible to set up a package visiting the river beaches, just as Lua’s Beach, located to the left bank of the Negro River, or to go to Anavilhanas, where it is the largest archipelago of river islands of the world. Tours like these are made by boat.

But there is an attraction that is unmissable. It is the encounter of the waters. This is a natural phenomenon, provoked by the confluence of Rio Negro’s dark waters with the brown waters of Rio Solimões, that join to form the Amazon River. For an extension of 6km, the waters of both rivers run side by side without mixing. With no doubt, everyone will be amazed.

Another place that deserves to be in your itinerary is the Zoological Park of Manaus. There it is possible see about 300 species of animals of the amazon fauna highlighting the monkeys, oncas, ariranhas, snakes, alliqators, macaws, tapirs, land turtles and etc
